2024-2025 Theme “Accepting Imperfection”
Reflections increases community awareness of the importance of arts

Building on the decades-long arts legacy of past Colorado State PTA President Mary Lou Anderson, who established the Reflections Art Program, National PTA awards grants of up to $1,000 so local PTAs can take arts education to the next level — especially for at-risk kids. Find out how your PTA can qualify.

Do you have an idea for a Reflections Theme?
The 2026-2027 theme search will open in the You will be able to submit your Theme search entries for 2026-27 between September 1, 2024, and 5 pm on November 1, 2024.. California State PTA will submit five student-created themes to National PTA for review and consideration.

Units, Award of Excellence entries from the units/schools have two strict due dates.

Tues, Oct 29th – Advancing entries (AE) must be shared digitally with Council Reflections.

Wed, Nov 6th – Original artwork for Visual Art and Photography & Literature must also be turned in at the November President’s meeting.

Program Details

Each year, students in Pre-K through Grade 12 are invited to create and submit original works of art. 

  • Reflections Chairperson  manages the program at the school level.
  • Students create art in one or more categories
  • Reviewers (Judges) are selected to access the art work
  • Celebrate the students for their accomplishments 
  • Advance “Award of Excellence” in each category to the next level for recognition and review.
